Exciting New Hotels Opening This Year

  1. J.K Place, Paris, France

The fourth J.K. Place outpost, after Florence, Capri, and Rome is designed to impress its guests. The interiors are very much Rive Gauche meets Italian opulence, and like its other sister hotels, an absolute delight. Housed in a former European Consulate building in the 7th Arrondissement, the 29 rooms and suites boasts heated slate bathroom floors and handmade beds from Italy. A Sisley Spa and their own Seine riverboat round out their offerings.

  2. Four Seasons Hotel Lanai at Koele, Hawaii

Like much of Lanai Island, Four Seasons Hotel Lanai at Koele is owned by Oracle Founder Larry Ellison. Christened the Pineapple Island, Lanai has a community of around 3000 residents and at the time of writing, just three hotels - two of which are managed under the Four Seasons Brand. Following an extensive multi-million dollar facelift, the Four Seasons Hotel Lanai at Koele has reopened as an adults-only, all-inclusive wellness retreat nestled in the piney mountains. Guests can expect a Sensei by Nobu restaurant with a clean-eating spin, and 96 light-filled rooms and suites. Some swear by the life-changing lomi lomi massage, but prices are most definitely not for the faint-hearted, even with the intra-island Four Seasons-branded private plane transportation.

  3. Jao Camp, Okavango Delta, Botswana

Fresh off its 2019 facelift, the first since its opening in 1999, Jao Camp in the 150,000 acre Jao Reserve has been given a new lease of life. The result is 2 villas and 5 open plan suites in tasteful shades of amethyst, tan, charcoal and grey-blue. In the stunning wildlife-rich Okavango delta, few places can rival the Wilderness Safaris-managed Jao Camp. With their heavy focus on conservation and impeccably trained staff, Wilderness Safaris always gets it right with incredible game drives, fresh food prepared onsite, and a wealth of excursions ranging from Mokoro canoe trips to helicopter safaris.

  4. PARK HYATT AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND

The long-awaited Park Hyatt Auckland is slated to open in May 2020, after a series of delays. Set in Auckland’s busy Wynyard Quarter, the hotel will have 195 rooms and suites, 4 restaurants and bars, and a 25-metre infinity pool. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows will feature in rooms overlooking the Harbour, and will start at a roomy 505-square meters. We can’t think of a better way to start or end an odyssey through New Zealand.

  5. Rosewood Hong Kong

The new Kowloon-flagship of Rosewood Hotels manages to have 413 guest rooms and an air of intimacy at the same time. All thanks to the genius of designer Tony Chi, with his affinity for cosy nooks and crannies. Guest rooms are a melting pot of textures, colors, and homely patterns, lending an air of warmth and welcoming. Guests will also be spoilt for choice at any one of their extensive eight restaurant and bar options.
